In 2019, we managed to collaborate with the legendary Feng Zhu, who is not only one of the best masters of concept art, but also an amazing mentor who has given an opportunity for the new talent to rise in the CG industry. We were able to have a lecture by Anna Podedworna, who created the coolest illustrations for CD Projekt RED, and Mauro Belfiore, who creates just simply spectacular character concepts! We also had Sean Sevestre as our guest speaker, who proved that an artist can manage to discover himself in a wide variety of creative industries.

2020 was meant to mark the 5-year anniversary of ARTILLERY art festival.

In response to the current situation and in an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19 we have made the decision to postpone the event  until next year.

We also managed to invite stunning sculptors James W. Cain, and Tomek Radziewicz, who not only gave an exciting lecture, but also held a  sculpture workshop for our guests. We also curated a sculpture art show with amazing works created by Saint-Petersburg based artists, the graduates of the Academy of Arts, Vladimir Brodsky and Katerina Pilnikova. We will definitely expand the 3D section in the future, both with traditional and digital artists, see you in July!

Starting out as a festival for digital artists held by Grafit Studio, Artillery has evolved to become the biggest event in the CG industry in Russia, representing both digital and traditional masters, inviting people from all across the world. 5th shot in 2020 marks a new milestone for the festival and our team is excited to step up the game and surprise you in the best ways possible!

Each year we invite top industry masters to speak at our event and share the knowledge on digital art, 3D, traditional media and more!  From master classes and lectures to portfolio reviews by leading artists of the industry, networking, painting exhibitions, a VR space -  the festival offers many activities for everyone, and most importantly, together with the  like-minded people who change the CG industry together.

The Artilery Art Awards is an award established by Artillery festival team and Grafit Studio to support contemporary artists from around the world. Today, thousands of professionals are working on the visual language and embodiment of great ideas. Digital art is widespread in the modern world, tremendously impacting the film and video game industry, print media, theater and other areas.

However, despite its importance, there is currently no world-wide award for achievements in this area that could celebrate CG art as bright and evovling field it is. Our goal is to encourage professional skills and talent of artists, to reward them for work already done, to give an incentive to the development and creation of new works, as well as to completion of work begun. Very soon we will publish the announcement of 2020!
